Privacy Policy
SQRD is an app for splitting expenses with friends. It is made by CloutLabs LLC (“we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. If you have questions, email support@sqrd.pro.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, our sign-in provider stores only a secure one-way hash of it; we never see your password.
- Sign in with Apple or Google. Apple shares your name (the first time) and your email address, which can be a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email. Google shares your name, email address, and a link to your profile picture, which SQRD does not display.
- What you add. Groups (their names and types), expenses (descriptions, amounts, currencies, dates, categories, and who paid and who owes), payments you record, friendships, and invitation links. For invitation links, we store only a scrambled fingerprint of the code.
- Activity. A history of changes in each group, such as who added or edited an expense, so everyone can see what changed.
- Technical information. Your sign-in session is kept on your device. Our hosting providers keep short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) to run and secure the service.
SQRD does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier, and it never handles payment card or bank details. No money moves through SQRD: payments you record happen somewhere else.
How we use it
We use your information only to run SQRD: to keep your groups, balances, and history in sync with your friends; to sign you in and keep your account secure; to send account emails such as sign-up confirmations and password resets; to answer support requests; and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your information. SQRD has no ads, no analytics tools, and no tracking across other apps or websites. If we ever add ads, we will update this policy before they appear and explain exactly what is shared.
Who can see your information
- People in your groups see your name and the group’s expenses, payments, and activity, including after you leave the group, so their records still add up.
- Your friends see your name and the balances you share with them.
- Your email address is never shown to other people in SQRD.
Service providers
We rely on a few companies to run SQRD. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in, in the United States.
- Resend delivers account emails.
- Vercel hosts the sqrd.pro website.
- Apple and Google provide Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in when you choose them.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete account. Deletion happens 30 days later; signing back in before then lets you keep your account. When deletion finishes, we remove your email address and login, take you out of your groups, and end your friendships and invitation links. Your name stays on expenses you shared, so your friends’ balances still add up. If you signed in with Apple, SQRD is also disconnected from your Apple ID.
Expenses and groups that are deleted are hidden from everyone but kept in our database so shared history stays consistent. Backups may keep copies for a short time before they expire. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing support@sqrd.pro.
Your choices and rights
You can change your name in the app and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your data, and to object to how we use it. Email us to make a request, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access rules in our database let each person see only their own groups and friends, and passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
SQRD is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email.
